31 Day Challenge: Blue

Hello lovelies!

So, yeah, late post on a Friday again. Want to take a guess at what happened? Yep, I fell asleep last night after class and didn't get to writing the post until now....whoops. But I'm still on track with the challenge!

So, onto the nails!

Today might be my favorite day of the challenge because I love blue nails and it's all I'm seeing in my  Bloglovin feed!

Here's what I used:

Today's nails were inspired by this print by Luli Sanchez. Which, I read a little about the technique used to create this and it actually sounds really cool! It's called "batik" and you use some sort of wax to add the design to cloth. When the wax is dried, the cloth is colored with dye, and then the wax is washed off so it creates a negative image. I don't know, I didn't have class today so I kind of felt the need to learn something....but I want to try this!

These nails started with 2 coats of School Uniform, which I reviewed a few weeks or so ago, and a layer of HK Girl. I mixed the white and yellow ochre acrylic paint together and painted on the background shapes. This was followed with the blue acrylic paint shapes and finally the smallest details were added. Everything was sealed in with another layer of HK Girl.

I really loved how these nails turned out and even painted the design on my right hand! I probably spent more time staring at my nails then paying attention during my classes yesterday haha.

Thanks for reading guys!!
