Fall Out Boy in the House!

Hello lovelies!

Today is Friday and the end of my first week of school! Woo! But it's going to be a long one /: I have class from 8am-3:30pm, I have an interview for my second work study job in-between 2 of my classes, and then a critique in my last class. And then after class, I'm driving the 2+ hour drive back home for the weekend. I'm already tired and just want to sleep...sigh.

BUT! There's good news!

The reason I'm driving back home is to go to a concert tonight and I get to see FALL OUT BOY LIVE! I'm so excited, this is my 2nd time seeing them this year and they put on an amazing show! *insert squealing and fan-girling here* (;

Enough of that, on to the nails!

Hello!

At this point, I've made it through the first half of my first week back to school! I don't have classes on Wednesdays but I do have club meetings. I'm sure I'll dedicate my time on Wednesdays split between the blog and homework (aka blogging > homework)! 

Let's get to the nails now!

I really enjoyed wearing these nails! I want to make more attempts at skittle manicures, I always come up with ideas but they don't always turn out how I envisioned. This one makes me happy though!

Back To School! Ampersand Style

Hello lovelies!

I'm sure as you could guess by the title of this post, today is my first day back to class. Funny thing, though I won't be in class when this post goes up. My schedule got changed so I only have one class on Mondays and it doesn't start till 2:30pm! Score!!

Anyhow!

ON TO THE NAILS! WOO!

Now, I'm sure you're wondering what all those pretty little symbols are (if you do know, kudos to you (: ). As a Graphic Designer, typography is a huge part of our job and studies. So, on each nail I painted an ampersand (&) from different fonts! This is mostly for my roommate who is obsessed with ampersands, she wants me to paint these on her nails but she has to grow her nails longer (she has baby nubbins :3 ).

Blog Your Heart Out Award! (Two Posts in One Day? What?)

Hello again!! 

I'm sure your wondering why you are getting two posts today, well let me tell you a little thing...

I was nominated for an award!!

WHAT?!

I've only had this blog for ten days and, I must say I'm honored and totally shocked. But thank you to HG Nail Design for the nomination! I appreciate it so much!

My understanding is that this award is for blogs that aren't very well known but deserve to be or to help new bloggers (such as I) not become discouraged. Each nominee is must answer the 5 questions and then nominate 5 blogs (that you follow) that have under 100 followers.
So let's go!

1. What/who encouraged you to start blogging?
To be completely honest, I always told myself that I would never have a nail blog haha. I had started reading nail blogs and painting my nails but that was basically the extent of my obsession. It always seemed like so much work and I didn't think I would have time between my schoolwork and my job. I guess, I also didn't think that my nail art/nails were "good" enough. But then randomly one day, I was talking to a friend about it and decided to go for it, so here we are today with Hey, Darling Polish!

2. How did you chose what topic(s) to blog about?
Nail polish/nail art are the only things I could see myself actually blogging about. The only other thing I would blog about would be Graphic Design, but I already run a Design blog so yeah. Nail polish/nail art is was haha.

3. What is something that most people don't know about you?
Hmmm, probably that I'm obsessed with dinosaurs? My close friends know this but not the blogging community. All the Jurassic Park movies are my favorites (I have a huge banner in my room) and I have a bunch of little dinosaur toys decorating my room! I've dreamt about doing dinosaur nails but let's not push it haha

4. What three words describe your style?
Unique, Cutesy, (Band) Merch (I cheated, don't tell!)

5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
Haha well, I'm normally working or doing school work but I don't typically "like" that stuff. So, I'm going to go with sitting on Tumblr (I'm big into Social Networking) or watching Criminal Minds for hours on end!

New! Weekly Recap 8/18-8/24

Hello everyone!

So, I finally came up with an idea for Sundays! I decided to do a weekly recap, this is where I'll just talk about anything that happened on the blog for the past week and just kind of ramble (I'm good at that, trust me!) I know The Lacquerologist (Week in Reviews) and some other blogs do it, and I think it's a great idea so I hope you enjoy!

This week was my first full week of blogging! Can I celebrate my one week anniversary? Is that a thing? Haha

I think this first week has been fun! I tried out two techniques that were new to me, both of which I fell in love with and will be seen again on the blog. I think this blog is really helping me with pushing my nail art and even with my time management. I've been trying really hard to stay on top of editing/posting/writing/publishing posts, hopefully this will continue and I'll be able to handle the blog with my schoolwork.

Thank you to everyone who has either followed the blog or even just took the time to read one post, it means a ton!

Hello!

Guess what?

As you're reading this, I'm moving into my apartment for my junior of college! Gah! I love being at school and being away from home. Hopefully the blog won't be affected too much by being back at school. I think I'm going to have access to a lightbox, so that should be good! I don't want my school work to take away too much of my time from the blog, so I'll find a way to make it work, PINKY PROMISE!

Special Announcement!

Hello!

So, I know things have been quiet for here since my first nail post. I decided on a blogging schedule and will be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and maybe something on Sundays? Hmm, who knows? I don't want to start off doing too much and then have to slow down because of school. In case anyone was wondering. (:
