I'm back today with another post! WHAT?! Wasn't I just complaining about having too much homework to do about 2 hours ago? Yeah, well, I work better when under pressure (hence why I always wait till the last minute to do my work). OR I'm just really good at procrastinating and starting this blog has given me a justifiable reason to procrastinate. You're pick (;

Rant aside! I was nominated for another award! This time it was the Blogger Friendship Award and I was nominated by Lucy from The Nail Snail! Make sure to check her out!

I guess the rules of this is to just 7 little known facts and then nominate 7 bloggers at the end? If not, sorry, but uhm yeah! Let's go!

1. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm currently writing this post rather then writing my 10 page paper that I need to finish so I can write my 10 minute presentation due Monday! WOO!
2. I drink a ton of coffee and am always looking for new, little coffee shops. 
3. I don't really like watching movies, I'd much rather marathon a season of a tv show. The last movie that I really liked was Now You See Me.
4. I have an online shopping problem (:
5. I love old, tacky floral prints/patterns.
6. I hate wearing sneakers. There's snow on the ground right now and I'm still wearing ballet flats.
7. I listen to a lot of different music, anything from hardcore to pop punk to alternative indie rock.

Versatile Blogger Award!!

Hello lovelies!

I'm back again with a 2nd post today! Wow haha. But I've been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award!! So exciting!

Thank you to Brethil from Druid Nails and Laura from Lucky Lucky Lacquer for nominating me! I'm honored! If you don't follow these two ladies, go do it! They're both amazing!

Now I have to tell you 7 things about myself. Oh man, I'm horrible at this haha! 

1. I'm obsessed with dinosaurs (you would know this if you read my about me, but shush haha). This stems from my love for the Jurassic Park books and movies (the books are better!). You know somethings bad when people refer to you as "dinosaur girl" haha. I own a few dinosaurs shirts, necklaces, I have a Jurassic Park banner in my room, and I have little dinosaur toys scattered around my room haha
2. I'm probably one of the worst procrastinators you will ever meet. I have a tendency to leave all of my homework to the last minute, for example, I did most of my midterm projects and studying in 2 nights last week. Fun times haha.
3. I'm a Graphic and Median design major. I enjoy making illustrations/graphics along with packaging design. I actually designed everything for my blog and then put it into a blogger template. I'm learning website design now though, and I've been thinking about trying to design my page from scratch but we'll see about that haha. 
4. I have a dog named Penny! But she lives back home in Syracuse and I haven't seen her in almost 2 months ):
5. I have 2 tattoos! I have a traditional style wolf on my right foot and the song lyric, "I am the monster you created" on my left foot. A lot of people are shocked when they see them because I normally dress pretty girly and wear bows, but I love traditional style tattoos and want more!
6. I suffer from sleeping problems. This isn't a fun fact but it's something I've never really mentioned on the blog. I'm not going to say I have insomnia but most nights I can't fall asleep before 3-4am, which really sucks when you have 8am class. And lately, I haven't even been able to fall asleep when trying to take a nap. 
7. I'm actually pretty shy and quiet in person until I feel comfortable with someone. I have pretty sever social anxiety and talking to people sometimes makes me extremely nervous. If I get really nervous my brain kind of just shuts down and I can't formulate words, it's pretty bad. But I've been getting better with this, going to the AIGA conference has definitely helped. I went up and introduced myself to one of my favorite designers by myself!! This is something I'm working on and I think having this blog has helped me put myself out there, even if it's behind a computer. (:

And I ranted through that, sorry haha!

Liebster Award! (2 Posts in 1 Day?! AGAIN?!)

Hello lovelies!

I'm back again with a 2nd post for today! I should probably stop doing this or else some people might start thinking that I'm actually really doing 2 posts on Sundays haha.

But I was nominated for another award, this time by The Nail Snail!! Wow, I'm in shock!

This time is was the Liebster award!

Here are my answers!

1. What is your favorite nail polish (sorry, I know it's a super hard question)?

 Oh man, this is tough! Haha! Currently, I would have to say Endless Blue by Sinful Colors!

2. What other hobbies do you have, besides nail polish?

 Does Graphic Design count as a hobby? I designed most/all of the elements of my layout! I like art, listening to music, and tumblr. Sleeping too! (;

3. In your opinion, what is the best mani you've ever done?

 Man, this is hard too! Hmmm, I would probably have to go with my Roses & Rhinestones. The freehanded roses were a big step for me, my first time using a detail brush actually!

4. How did you come up with your blog name?

 Well, originally I wanted to be Hey, Polish! based off of the band Hey Monday but that blogspot was already taken. So I added the word darling because I just really like the word and that's how Hey, Darling Polish! was created.

5. What is your favorite flower?

 Uhmm, carnations? I just really like any flower but those were my grandmother's favorite so I'll go with those!

6. What is the accomplishment you're most proud of?

 Just being in college probably, I feel like I've really worked hard to get myself where I am today and it's nice to know that I'm working towards something great. Neither of my parents finished college so it's big for them that I've made it this far.

7. Who is your favorite composer?

 Uhmmm, John Williams! Only because he did the soundtrack for Jurassic Park! Hehehe

8. What's your favorite board game?

 Othello!

9. What sports do you like to watch/what are your favorite teams?

 Haha uhmmm, I don't watch sports....that whole going to art school thing? Yeah, we don't do sports much. I did play golf for 4 years in high school though! 

10. What would be your idea of a dream vacation?

 Oh man! This is hard too! I would love to go to Australia, I've always been in love with Steve Irwin and I've been dreaming since I was a little kid of visiting his zoo! Or maybe to Alaska because I love cold weather! Ehhhhh! D: Can I do both in 1 trip? (:

11. Do you like country music? And if you do, do you agree that Blake Shelton has a bit of a monopoly over the country radio stations?

 Haha this is actually kind of funny. I respect peoples' musics choices and all, you're going to listen to what you want to listen to so it's cool. But I actually hate country music, whoops. Please don't be mad.(:

Phew, that was a lot!

Honestly, I don't think I'm going to pick out 11 blogs for this only because I think a lot of people have already been nominated for this and I know repetition can get annoying after a while. A lot of the people that I would nominate have just recently been nominated by other people and done their posts, so they shouldn't have to do another one. Also, truthfully and I'm not trying to sound pretentious or snobby, I don't actually follow that many blogs so trying to find blogs with under a certain amount of followers is hard. I do check out all the blogs that I was nominated along with though! If this hurts someones' feelings, I'm sorry. I love you all and you all deserve an award!

Blog Your Heart Out Award! (Two Posts in One Day? What?)

Hello again!! 

I'm sure your wondering why you are getting two posts today, well let me tell you a little thing...

I was nominated for an award!!

WHAT?!

I've only had this blog for ten days and, I must say I'm honored and totally shocked. But thank you to HG Nail Design for the nomination! I appreciate it so much!

My understanding is that this award is for blogs that aren't very well known but deserve to be or to help new bloggers (such as I) not become discouraged. Each nominee is must answer the 5 questions and then nominate 5 blogs (that you follow) that have under 100 followers.
So let's go!

1. What/who encouraged you to start blogging?
To be completely honest, I always told myself that I would never have a nail blog haha. I had started reading nail blogs and painting my nails but that was basically the extent of my obsession. It always seemed like so much work and I didn't think I would have time between my schoolwork and my job. I guess, I also didn't think that my nail art/nails were "good" enough. But then randomly one day, I was talking to a friend about it and decided to go for it, so here we are today with Hey, Darling Polish!

2. How did you chose what topic(s) to blog about?
Nail polish/nail art are the only things I could see myself actually blogging about. The only other thing I would blog about would be Graphic Design, but I already run a Design blog so yeah. Nail polish/nail art is was haha.

3. What is something that most people don't know about you?
Hmmm, probably that I'm obsessed with dinosaurs? My close friends know this but not the blogging community. All the Jurassic Park movies are my favorites (I have a huge banner in my room) and I have a bunch of little dinosaur toys decorating my room! I've dreamt about doing dinosaur nails but let's not push it haha

4. What three words describe your style?
Unique, Cutesy, (Band) Merch (I cheated, don't tell!)

5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
Haha well, I'm normally working or doing school work but I don't typically "like" that stuff. So, I'm going to go with sitting on Tumblr (I'm big into Social Networking) or watching Criminal Minds for hours on end!
