It's Monday, ugh, but that means that I'm back with my manicure for day 4 of the 33 Day Challenge! Hopefully this week will fly by so that I can actually sleep, I was busy all weekend and had to be up early both days. Also, I randomly woke up at 8am on a Saturday morning with no alarm clock. How does that even happen?! And I pulled an all-nighter last night! I've had a huge project that has been taking up so much time, I decided that I was going to stay up and just finish the whole thing because I'm tired of looking at it! I just want it to be 5pm so I can take a nap haha.
Anyways, I ranted whoops, on to the nails!
Today's prompt was tribal nails! A first for Hey, Darling Polish! I'm actually pretty happy with how these came out considering that it was my first attempt.
This week was full of challenge manicures. This past week was the beginning of the 33 Day Challenge hosted by The Crumpet. We also wrapped up this month's Tri-Polish Challenge, my first!
I'm glad that I don't have to use pink anymore! (: Hehe, but I had fun participating. I like challenges because they push you to try harder, I can't really be lazy and just wear glitters constantly anymore! I can't wait for the 33 day challenge to continue and see what everyone else has done! I'm happy with what I've posted so far!
Here are the upcoming prompts:
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to check out my blog and to all my new readers! Feel free to talk to me! (:
Here's today's song:
A Loss For Words - The Lost Cause I Used To Be
Check back tomorrow for some tribal nails tomorrow!
It's Friday! I wish I could say that I was excited but it's currently 3am as I type this, and I have to be up in 3 hours for class. I get to sit through 6 and 1/2 hours of class, and then work a 4 hour art sale. I can't even catch up on sleep this weekend because I have stuff going on every day and that doesn't even involve my massive amounts of homework ):
Anyhow, today is day 3 of the 33 Day Challenge! A tape manicure!
I'm just going to be honest. This was a pain in the butt, like seriously. It's not even that complicated but this took me the whole time watching Jurassic Park: The Lost World to do this on both hands! D:
The week is almost over! Yay! I'm here today with my final manicure for this month's Tri-Polish Challenge! Let me tell you a little secret, I'm really happy that I don't have to use pink anymore. But shhh, don't tell anyone! (;
Anyways, on to the nails!
This is probably my favorite manicure that I've done for this challenge!
It's Wednesdays! Today is full of club meetings and probably homework D: Did I mention that I was voted into another officer position of a club on campus? I'm happy I got the position but there's a lot going on this semester.
BUT! Today is day 2 of the 33 Day Challenge and here are my nails!
I am so in love this color! I seriously think I need like 2 back-up bottles of this!
Today is Tuesday, in case you weren't aware....I honestly think Tuesdays are worse than Mondays, only because I have class from 8am-3:30pm and it sucks. I've kind of delegated Tuesdays and Fridays after class as nap days, expect for this week since I got officer meetings thrown at me last minutes /: Oh well!
Anyways, I'm back today with my 3rd manicure for this month's Tri-Polish Challenge!
I had to do watercolor nails! It's one of my favorite nail art techniques!
It's Monday, boo! This post is coming a little earlier than I normally post but today marks the beginning of The Crumpet's 33 Day Challenge, and I wanted to be around a computer when this was supposed to go up. Everybody will be posting their manicures Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the next 11 weeks! I know a lot of talented people are participating in this and honestly, it makes me nervous haha.
But anyways, on the to nails!
The first prompt for today is dots! It's a nice simple opening theme for the challenge, I think.
I've decided that I'm definitely going to try and stick to 5 nail posts a week! Yay, more nails for you guys! (: It's been pushing me to try new nail techniques and improving with nail art. Also, it's definitely helping me with my time management which is something that I really need to work on. I'm the person who waits till the last minute for almost everything, so yeah, not good haha. Take this weekend for example, I have tons of homework but decided not to do any work and relax the whole time. I watched a lot of Paranormal State and colored my hair purple (; (I'll probably end up pulling an all nighted tonight or tomorrow D: )
Anyways, this is a nail blog....whoops. 3 out of 5 posts had pink in them and I don't even like the color pink, weird. This week I posted my first 2 manicures of the Tri-Polish Challenge, my first nail art challenge! This upcoming is actually going to be all challenge posts, weird. But the 33 Day Challenge starts tomorrow! Woo!
There's still time to join! Here are the prompts! I'm excited!
I wrote a lot again....sorry.
Today's song:
Sombear - Love You In The Dark
Check back tomorrow for my first post of the 33 Day Challenge! Have a great day!
And I'm back, again. Do we like this idea of nail posts Monday-Friday? Or is it overkill? Thoughts? Both of my roommates are going home this weekend, so I've decided to dedicate my Saturday to a Paranormal State marathon and a nail art day! I'm so excited (: Anyways, I'm back again with another indie nail post!
Here's the nails!
Ugh, so great! I don't even care that it's pink glitter, I've fallen in love with this polish too!
Have you guys gotten sick of me yet? Haha! I'm back today with my 2nd manicure for this month's Tri-Polish Challenge! This month's colors are lilac, pink, and blue! Here's a link to The Crumpet's original post that explains the rules: here.
On to the nails!
Slime drips or ice cream drips or whatever kind of drips you want them to be! (:
I'm back again! This whole blogging Sunday-Friday thing for challenges is going to take a little getting used to. But I hope you all enjoy it! Hopefully I can keep up with this because I've been thinking of upping my blogging to Sunday-Friday. But it seems intimidating haha! We'll see! I actually had the time last night to sit down and paint a few different manicures (it was a much needed break from schoolwork!) (:
Anyways, on to the nails!!
This is the first indie ever featured on the blog! Love, Angeline's She Loves Me! And it's a beauty isn't it?!
I hope everyone's day is going well! Posting on a Tuesday is weird for me, but today is my first time taking part in the Tri-Polish Challenge started by Debbie from The Crumpet!
We're back for another week! I can't actually complain too much about it being Monday considering that I didn't get homework in two of my classes for over the weekend! And I had time to watch Jurassic Park: The Lost World! Score! But ehh, Mondays are still pretty lame.
But, keep reading for some pretty nails!
Not something you'd expect to see from me right? Haha, I had a wedding to go to a few weeks ago and had to wear "wedding appropriate" nails, whatever that means :P
This first month has been fantastic and I'm really excited for everything that is coming up for the blog and you guys! I know it's only been a month but I can already see my nail painting skills improving! Having this blog has made be way more dedicated to practicing my nail art skills and pushing me to try new things. I can't wait to see how month 2 plays out! (:
Anyways, this past week was filled with a bunch of different fun manicures including a new technique to me. Making nail decals will definitely be something that I play around with more!
Also, this upcoming week will be my first time participating in The Crumpets' Tri-Polish Challenge! Gah, exciting! Look out for those posts! And don't forget that next week starts the 33 Day Challenge. There's still time to join if you're interested! (;
It's Friday! This makes me soo happy! Even though my weekend will probably be filled with homework, I'm just happy for a chance to sleep haha! This week has been so stressful! I've spent at least 15+ hours this week on one project alone! But luckily, it's done! Gah!
Anyways, on to the nails!
I might enjoy wearing jeans and a crew neck sweater all the time, but my nails can be classy! (:
I'm back again! No class today but I've got club meetings and work study work to do. Pulled my first all-nighter (Monday night) of the semester already this year. Only 3 weeks and I stayed awake for 38+ hours. Ugh, at least the 11 straight hours of sleep last night was amazing! Haha blah.
On to the nails!
Cute, right? These were so easy to do but I love them!
Today is Monday, oh joy. Ugh. I'm feeling better though, so yay! Hopefully this week of school goes a little bit smoother, I can't even begin to imagine how much homework I'm going to get though...
But on to the nails!
Doesn't it remind you of Buzz Lightyear if he were a hipster?!
This past week was my "Tri Polish Challenge-esque" week. This nails were all done the week leading up to when I moved back to school, so I only was able to leave out a few colors and supplies.
This week was full of glequins too, which is fun! I bought a bunch of them (you can find them: here) and then never really used them. So, I'm glad that I've been experimenting with them more!
Don't forget that I will be taking part in this month's real Tri Polish Challenge and the 33 Day Challenge. More information can be found at The Crumpet's blog! Check it out, join in on the fun!
So, today is the last day of my Tri Polish Challenge spin off week (and it's Friday :D!) 2nd week of college, equals done! I'm feeling a little better but I'm still sick and probably won't do anything except sleep and watch movies all weekend (Hello Jurassic Park marathon) (; I'm totally okay with this!
On to the nails!
This week was also a lot of experimenting with glequins. I think they're fun and easy to use but can easily get time consuming and messy. The results are always pretty though!
This is my second post of my Tri Polish Challenge-esqe week! Remember, I packed away all my nail polish except for 3 colors and some supplies.
Now, I almost didn't post these only because of the picture quality. These were the nails that I wore on the day I moved in and I photographed them before we left. It was like 8am, gross (I'm SO not a morning person D: ) and the lighting was super weird. Please excuse any odd coloring of my fingers.
I'm ranting, ugh. ON TO THE NAILS!
Simple but cute, right? I knew they were going to chip so I didn't want to bother with anything elaborate.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was super fun but busy, I haven't done any of homework but thankfully I have classes off this Monday. Score. (:
So, this week is going to be a little different. All my posts this week are from the week leading up to me moving back to college. I had to pack away all my nail polish (I almost cried!) but I left myself out 3 colors and nail art supplies so I could continue to paint my nails. It's like the Tri Polish Challenge, which I will be starting later this month!
BUT, on to the nails!
Aren't they pretty? I really enjoyed wearing these nails! The balance of the neutral brown against the bright blue made them really fun and they looked really classy.
Hello lovelies! I'm back again with a 2nd post for today! I should probably stop doing this or else some people might start thinking that I'm actually really doing 2 posts on Sundays haha. But I was nominated for another award, this time by The Nail Snail!! Wow, I'm in shock! This time is was the Liebster award!
Here are the "rules":
You must link back to the blogger who nominated you.
Answer the 11 questions given to you by the blogger who nominated you.
Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.
Go to the blogs you nominated and notify them of your nomination.
Give your nominees 11 questions to answer
Here are my answers!
1. What is your favorite nail polish (sorry, I know it's a super hard question)?
Oh man, this is tough! Haha! Currently, I would have to say Endless Blue by Sinful Colors!
2. What other hobbies do you have, besides nail polish?
Does Graphic Design count as a hobby? I designed most/all of the elements of my layout! I like art, listening to music, and tumblr. Sleeping too! (;
3. In your opinion, what is the best mani you've ever done?
Man, this is hard too! Hmmm, I would probably have to go with my Roses & Rhinestones. The freehanded roses were a big step for me, my first time using a detail brush actually!
4. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, originally I wanted to be Hey, Polish! based off of the band Hey Monday but that blogspot was already taken. So I added the word darling because I just really like the word and that's how Hey, Darling Polish! was created.
5. What is your favorite flower?
Uhmm, carnations? I just really like any flower but those were my grandmother's favorite so I'll go with those!
6. What is the accomplishment you're most proud of?
Just being in college probably, I feel like I've really worked hard to get myself where I am today and it's nice to know that I'm working towards something great. Neither of my parents finished college so it's big for them that I've made it this far.
7. Who is your favorite composer?
Uhmmm, John Williams! Only because he did the soundtrack for Jurassic Park! Hehehe
8. What's your favorite board game?
Othello!
9. What sports do you like to watch/what are your favorite teams?
Haha uhmmm, I don't watch sports....that whole going to art school thing? Yeah, we don't do sports much. I did play golf for 4 years in high school though!
10. What would be your idea of a dream vacation?
Oh man! This is hard too! I would love to go to Australia, I've always been in love with Steve Irwin and I've been dreaming since I was a little kid of visiting his zoo! Or maybe to Alaska because I love cold weather! Ehhhhh! D: Can I do both in 1 trip? (:
11. Do you like country music? And if you do, do you agree that Blake Shelton has a bit of a monopoly over the country radio stations?
Haha this is actually kind of funny. I respect peoples' musics choices and all, you're going to listen to what you want to listen to so it's cool. But I actually hate country music, whoops. Please don't be mad.(: Phew, that was a lot! Honestly, I don't think I'm going to pick out 11 blogs for this only because I think a lot of people have already been nominated for this and I know repetition can get annoying after a while. A lot of the people that I would nominate have just recently been nominated by other people and done their posts, so they shouldn't have to do another one. Also, truthfully and I'm not trying to sound pretentious or snobby, I don't actually follow that many blogs so trying to find blogs with under a certain amount of followers is hard. I do check out all the blogs that I was nominated along with though! If this hurts someones' feelings, I'm sorry. I love you all and you all deserve an award! Okay, it's 3am and I'm exhausted. Thank you for reading and thank you so much again to The Nail Snail! Check her blog out!!! -Marisa (:
This past week has been crazy with the start of school and trying to keep the blog up and going. To be completely honest, this semester isn't looking too hopeful. I already have a ton of homework to do, plus work study work, and club stuff to worry about. BUT, I'm dedicated to this blog and will continue to try my hardest to keep it going! (I'm used to not sleeping, unfortunately. So, no big deal haha).
I think this past week was kind of rough partly because my Monday and Friday posts weren't written ahead of time. I wanted to wear those nails on those certain days so I painted them the night before, photographed, edited, and wrote the posts all at once. But I'm happy with everything that went up this week! I did a bunch of type inspired nails which I'm a total nerd for, so it's cool. Also, THERE IS HOPE FOR MY FREE HAND SKILLS! A couple of months (maybe even weeks) ago, I would never would of dreamed of doing those ampersand nails! Haha! Yay for improvement!
Yay for ranting! But I have more news!!
This upcoming month, I have decided to start participating in the Tri Polish Challenge hosted by Crumpet's Nail Tarts ! Yay! Fun things! Here's the post that started this challenge along with the rules!
Also, MORE NEWS! Woo!
I've also decided to participate in The Crumpet's new 33 Day Challenge! This challenge will start on September 23rd, there will be posts up Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (my blogging schedule (; ), and will last for 11 weeks! Here's the link to a post about it!
Here's the prompts for it!
I'm excited for this but also extremely nervous at the same time! I'm mostly just worried about time constraints, I know that I'll be out of state for 2 of these days but I'm hoping to stay on top of it.
Welp, that was a long post....SORRY! I hope you've enjoyed reading this and stay tuned for more nails this week! (:
And because I'm still on a Fall Out Boy kick:
Fall Out Boy - What A Catch, Donnie
Here's some photos from the concert (click to make bigger). It ended up pouring during it but there's something almost magical about screaming along to some of your favorite songs with hundreds of people in the rain. Or maybe I'm just weird haha
