FingerFood Theme Buffet: Negative Space

Ello!

I have a second post for you all today! There's going to be a lot of days this month where I'm double posting but I'm sure you guys are used to that from me by now.

So, let's get onto the nails!

And these nails are totally different from what I posted this morning! Yeah!

Here's what I used:

This week's theme for the FingerFood Theme Buffet is "negative space" which I've done in the past, here and here, but I wanted to try it a bit differently this time. Last week, @madamluck on Instagram did this really funky design for the piCture pOlish blog/insta fest and I loved it so much that I wanted to attempt it!

These nails started with one coat of Luxe Lacquers' Rose and a layer of HK Girl. When that had dried, I placed some straight Nail Vinyls down to create the shapes and made sure that they were laying smooth on my nail. I then took the remaining three polishes and dabbed some blobs on my nails. Using my smallest dotting tool, I swirled the colors around. I don't know know what the technique is called but it's similar to the "needle dragging/toothpick marbling" that Sheila over at Pointless Cafe is great at! I then peeled off the tape, cleaned up, and top coated with another layer of HK Girl.

I normally don't like wearing negative space designs because my nails are super stained (and my nails all grow differently but that's a completely different issue). Rose is a sheer polish but with one coat it pretty much negated out any staining. I'll definitely be trying out more negative space designs because I loved how these turned out!

Thanks for reading guys!
