Hello lovelies!
Look who's back in action! My wifi is setup and all of my stuff is unpacked so we're back to business (: It's nice to be able to post again. Not posting this past weekend felt like way too long of a break for some reason....weird. Today is also my first day back to classes.....this is my last year which is scary....
But anyways, I have a new indie brand to show you guys today and it's Amazing Chic Nails! I have swatches of some of the polishes from her upcoming Autumn Collection which will be releasing on September 1st and one polish from her Late Summer Collection. Let's get to the polish!
*All swatches shown with 1 coat of Seche Vite
I'm going to start the post off with the Summer polish and then we'll work our way into the Fall polishes. I'm also going to include her descriptions of the polishes in bold for each one because I think Fiona (owner) has some really awesome background stories behind her polishes. So, first up is Festival Season!
"This super bright pink creme polish is the perfect colour to help keep those perfect summer memories alive."
This polish had a great formula and reached opacity in two coats. It does dry to a slightly matte finish but adding some top coat will make it shiny. There was also a slight shimmer to this but I couldn't pick it up with my camera. I completely agree with her description above. You all know I'm not the biggest fans of pink polish but this one was so bright and fun, I could definitely see someone wearing this to a music festival!
Next up are the polishes from the Fall Collection. This polish is called School Uniform!
"A rich blue crème polish. My
school uniform colours growing up were blue and gold. I have fond memories of
my days at school and wanted to create a polish that would remind me of them
every time I wore it."
I'm showing you guys two coats of School Uniform on its own. If you're careful, unlike me, you could definitely get this opaque with one coat, but be careful because I did find that this polish likes to stain cuticles and skin. Because this polish is so pigmented, it is a little bit thick for a cream but I had no issues with application. I wore this polish for 3 days while I moved and had no staining on my nails from it. This color is going to be great for nail art in the upcoming months!
Next up is Falling Leaves!
"An Autumn inspired glitter
topper featuring various brown, gold, red, and orange glitters."
I'm showing you guys one coat of Falling Leaves over Pure Ice's Jail Bait. I did find that there was more base to glitter so it was easier to dab the glitters on rather than using brush strokes. This polish is really pretty though and I think it's perfect for Fall because it definitely reminds me of fallen leaves!
And last up is The Lake District!
"A lake blue jelly base with
holographic gold glitters and holographic highlights. Inspired by a national
park in North West England that features a number of lakes, mountains, hills,
and general natural beauty."
GUYS! Seriously, THIS POLISH! I'm in love with this and I was in love with it the minute I unwrapped it. This is 3 coats of The Lake District on its own. The formula leans more towards a jelly which means it dries a little slow but that's what quick dry topcoat is for. The base of the polish is the most beautiful blue that reminds me of a lake back home that I used to hike around for school and the glitters in it are so pretty! I NEED to get a full sized bottle of this when these collection goes on sale!
Here are some macros:
The Fall collection will be released on September 1st and will consist of 7 polishes. Each polish will retail at $10 for a 15mL bottle or $60 for the entire collection. It also will be available in 5mL mini bottles but I don't have a price for those at the moment. I should also mention that Amazing Chic Nails is based out of Canada. I was playing around on the site though and shipping might seem higher at $8.03 but I put 20 polishes in my cart and the shipping stayed at $8.03. If you're worried about shipping costs, I would recommend doing a group buy with some of your friends because to me, these polishes are worth it. I mean THE LAKE DISTRICT! Come on! Here are some links to her social media and shop:
So, with that I'll wrap up this post. Thank you guys for reading and thank you Fiona for allowing me the chance to try out your polishes. I want to add too that Fiona has been so professional, she even sent out an information packet with a ton of info about her brand and the new collection, that it was a joy to work with her. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
-Marisa! (:
