Hello lovelies!
I have a quick post for you guys today because you know, the usual, it's late and I have class super early.
So, onto the nails!
At least this quick post will be fun because this is the first time I've ever shown a textured polish on the blog without topcoat. I know, crazy right?!
Here's what I used:
I just realized that I forgot to put the studs in the photo but they're from bornprettystore and you can find them here. I wanted to join back in on the N.A.I.L. Linkups, I missed last week's post, but this week called for a textured polish so I went for it and tried wearing one. These nails didn't even last 24 hours because I couldn't stand the feeling of them. I could hear the polish rubbing against my clothes and when I touched my face it felt rough. So, nope, I can't do it. Gotta give me credit for trying though. Right?
Anyways, these nails started with three coats of Grass Is Lime Greener and a layer of HK Girl. I then used paper reinforcements to mark off the half moon shapes and applied one coat of Galaxy. The studs were just attached with a little dab of top coat because I didn't plan on wearing these any longer.
Ignoring my dislike for the textured feeling, I still like these nails! I've been really into the half moon design lately and I loved the studs. Galaxy will still end up getting used quite a bit because it's a beautiful polish with top coat (see here)!
Thanks for reading guys!
-Marisa! (:
Nice half moon manicure here. That green really pops against that dark texture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun use of texture! I really like this :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the look of these textured half-moons!
ReplyDeleteBut... I'm right there with you. I almost had a nervous breakdown the day I tried wearing it to work. You still get mad respect for trying though!
That's great coverage for 1 coat of galaxy! Props for trying a textured polish without top coat. I'm like you and not a huge fan of the textured feeling for some reason the original pixie's from Zoya don't bother me as much though.
ReplyDeleteHaha am I the only one who like to rub my nails when wearing textured then? I love the simple design btw, the color combo + studs really works together well!
ReplyDeleteOooh love the texture effect against the lime color. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love how cute and unexpected these are! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI totally do that too!
ReplyDeleteFair dues for at least trying the textured look - although I do think that particular one looks very very rough. Regardless, this look is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute, the texture really adds to the visual effect!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute and fun mani! Love the studs :)
ReplyDeleteCool! Kick-ass mani :D I really need Grass is Lime Greener...
ReplyDeleteI'm not big into textured polish either, but this does look great on you! The contrast of the smooth neon and dark textured and then the addition of that almost pastel-looking stud is a great combo! It's always good to try new things :)
ReplyDeleteI love texture polish and I love this mani! The colors you used plus the cream and texture look great!
ReplyDeleteje n'aime pas les vernis texturés mais j'aime beaucoup beaucoup ce que tu as fait c'est très sympa =)
ReplyDeletebises

ReplyDeleteAww thanks! (:
ReplyDeleteThank you! And yeah, I don't think I could do it again haha!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah, a lot of people have been suggesting that I try the original pixie dusts because they aren't as gritty? I guess I'll have to try one out!
ReplyDeleteHaha I was doing that but it wasn't a pleasant feeling /: Thank you though!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you! (:
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks! That's what I keep getting told so I think I need to try out a different brand before I completely write them off
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! (:
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks! And yes you do! It's an awesome color!
ReplyDeleteHaha thank you! I do agree that the difference of textures was interesting....at least for an hour than it was no good haha!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much!! (:
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad you like it!!
