Today is New Year's Eve! I hope you all have plans to hang out with friends or family (or if you're staying in, that's cool too!). Just remember to be responsible! Please? I'm finally getting the chance to hang out with some friends and I'm so excited! (:
Onto the nails!
I wanted to welcome in the new year with some sparkles! Why? Well because who doesn't like sparkles?! :D
I'm in a better mood today! Yay! The fact that I get 3 days off from work might be a bit of an influence on that haha. Anyways, today's Music Monday is a bit different. Up until now I've been recreating album covers but today's post was actually inspired by song lyrics and a bit more abstract!
So let's get into to!
"Put yourself in my place for just one day. Watch all the colors in your spectrum fade grey."
I'm back again for the last day of the Christmas Winter Challenge! This has been a fun challenge! I didn't feel that the prompts were all that limiting which was nice but I think at the same time, it made it harder to come up with ideas haha. I guess that's a bit of a lose-lose situation there for me isn't? Haha
Anyways, onto the nails!
Glequins and sparkles! That photographed horribly! WOO! Meh /:
Oh man, so many nails on the blog this week haha. I'm going to go ahead and give myself a pat on the back for keeping up with all the blogging. Is that okay with you? Haha I hope you nodded in agreement and if not, well, I'm going to do it anyways! :P
I'm a bit borderline on how I feel about this past week on the blog. I'm really happy with my Music Monday, snowmen, and swatch post but the rest of it is making me feel a little blah. I think I'm in a nail art slump lately. I just feel like I keep doing the same things over and over again. I think the Music Monday posts are the only thing that are really pushing my nail art skills. I don't know. We'll see how this week goes. Maybe I just need more challenges to do!
Here are the remaining prompts for the Christmas Winter Challenge:
I'm back again with another installment of Indie Friday! Today I'll be wrapping up my Live Life Polished polishes. I saved my favorite two polishes for last! So let's get into it!
Here are the polishes!
I'm starting this post off with Blueberry Surprise!
I hope that everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful day yesterday! I had a great time hanging out with my family! I'm going to keep pushing right on along with the blog because the Christmas Winter Challenge is back again today!
On to the nails!
I'm sorry but how adorable are my little snowmen? I was so happy with these nails! :D
MERRY CHRISTMAS! to everyone that celebrates! If not, HAPPY WEDNESDAY!! I'm going to try and keep this quick. My brother said he's waking me up at 8:30 am and its currently 3:45am....oops.
On to the nails!
I wanted to post another Christmas-y manicure! So I did!
It's Christmas Eve! Gah! I still haven't wrapped my Christmas presents and I get to spend today at work then at a family dinner. Whoops....Oddly enough, I think I end up wrapping all of my presents on Christmas Eve though....sooo yeah, pretty typical for me. Haha I'm a procrastinator for life!
Anways, the Tri-Polish Challenge is back today!
I had to try snowflake nails! Like come on! Snowflakes are so pretty haha
Christmas is on Wednesday! Gah! I figured out what I'm doing for presents so I have a bit of running around to do before work today, but we're pretty much in the clear (: Work is probably going to suck though....I sliced my finger on a cardboard box last night while working. Not fun! Even worse because I went to take off my nail polish and acetone accidentally touched the bandaid (a weird cotton-y one from work) and soaked in until it reached my cut. That hurt a bit....a lot a bit D:
Anyways, today is Music Monday and I kept it Christmas themed!
Today is another day of the Christmas Winter Challenge! Which huh reminds me that I've bought like 1 Christmas present hahahahah whoops....I started making things for people but I've kind of gotten behind. Oops.
Wow, a lot of nails on the blog this week haha. Honestly I'm a little shocked, double posting on some of the challenge days is weird haha. Ah well, I like keeping up with the challenges! They're fun! Even though I'm struggling with the Tri-Polish Challenge a bit this month.
My favorite nails of the week are a tie between the Hello Fascination nails and my ice cream skittles! I love how fun both of them were. Did you have a favorite? I know I mentioned it earlier in the week but I finally built a light box, so hopefully some photo consistency is coming to the blog! I actually ended up painting all the nails for the week minus 1 post yesterday whoops. But I'm excited to show you what's coming to the blog this week!
Here are the remaining prompts for the Christmas Winter Challenge:
Today's song:
The Story So Far - Quicksand
Thanks for reading and check back later for another Christmas Winter post!
I hope everyone's week has gone well! I actually have tomorrow off from work which is rare haha. I really need to catch up on painting challenge nails and I'm having Doctor Who withdrawals, so I'm looking forward to it! Anyways, I'm back again with another installment of Indie Friday!
Today we're continuing on with Live Life Polished starting with All Red-y For You!
I unknowingly swatched Christmas colors for this week haha!
It's Thursday woo! Guess who found out her grades for this past semester! I ended up getting a 3.8 which I'm shocked, I haven't done that since freshmen year haha. Also, today is my last day shift at work before I go back to my night shifts. Which means that I can finally sleep!! I'm in a good mood today haha.
But ranting aside, on to the nails!
Today's theme is toys, so I painted toys! Uhm yup!
Does anyone else feel like this week is dragging? It's only Wednesday! Maybe I'm just tired, I'm not used to working day shifts at my job. Or maybe it's the fact that I've had to brush a good few inches plus of snow off my car every single day I've been home. Woof, central New York man. Not cool.
Anyways, I'm back again with another Skittles Wednesday post!
Does my wacky title make a little more sense now? It randomly just popped into my head and I was like "yeah, go for it!" (:
Remember that time when Marisa totally forgot that the Tri-Polish Challenge was a thing that happened every month? Oh wait....that's what happened this time around. Haha oops. So I completely forgot about the challenge this month and was just going to pass on participating but at the last minute I decided to join! So yay Tri-Polish Challenge is back!
On to the nails!
Polka dots! Lots of polka dots! Poorly done polka dots! But polka dots!
I've been home for 2 days now and I'm heading back to work today. Not too pumped about that and I'm super nervous about my nails. They're pretty long for me and I used to get breaks even with my nubs over the summer, but we'll see. Anyways, today brings another post for Music Mondays!
Here are the nails!
These kind of remind me of some super funky french tipish manicure. Maybe? That might be a really far stretch haha.
I have to keep this post quick because my internet is being really slow. And uhhh, it's 6am and I haven't gone to bed yet....whoops. So yeah, Christmas Winter Challenge is back again today!
On to the nails!
Presents for everybody!! As in on my nails and you can look at them! They're presents for your eyes (:
A lot happened on the blog this week! There was some challenge manicures in there, which my winter nature nails seemed to be quite popular so thanks for that! I introduced 3 new features to the blog that I'm super pumped to continue on with! My Riot! nails were a personal favorite just because they were Paramore haha! Which were your favorite?
I'm back home for winter break now, which means a few things for the blog. I currently don't have a lighting setup so photographing nails can't exactly happen yet. I'm working on making a light box. I have all the posts ready for this week but just bear through the wonky lighting situtations. Also, I start back working tomorrow where I'll be working 25-30 hours a week. I'm a cashier so I can't really guarantee the state of my nails, they have a tendency to break during my shifts ): So, I'll keep you guys posted on how things are going!
Here are the upcoming prompts for the Christmas Winter Challenge:
And today's song:
Transit - Please Head North
I'll be back later with another Christmas challenge manicure!
I have another new feature for the blog today! I've ranted on the blog before about my love for indie nail polish but I've never really shown off any of my collection. So, I figured why not start swatching them for the blog! I've decided that I'm going to break these into 2-3 polishes per post to avoid them being to picture heavy. I'll go through by brand until I show off all my pretties, which uhhh won't happen anytime soon haha.
So to start off my first Indie Friday post, I'm starting with the brand Live Life Polished and I'll be showing Goodbye Summer and What Happened To Blue?
Today is my only final! Gah, I'm so pumped because then I'm pretty much done for the semester other than one more online biology quiz! I plan on taking my final, taking a nap, and then painting my nails and watching Doctor Who for the rest of the day (:
Anyways, I'm back again today with the next Christmas Winter Challenge post!
I'll just give everyone a minute to take in all that sparkle! (:
Today is actually the first day this finals week that I haven't had to go to something school related, woo! Sadly, today will be spent studying for my one and only final tomorrow. Woof. Anyways, another new feature on the blog! I think we all know that I love skittles manicures, so why not dedicate an entire day to them every week?!
So, remember when I said that finals week would be easier than having classes? Hahaha haha ha, well. I'm still not sleeping at night because I have stuff to do and I'm currently writing this post over finishing a project. Whoops! Anyways here are some nails I did with my old nail shape!
On to the nails!
More stamping! I told you all this is beginning to be an obsession!
I'm back today with one of the new features that I'm going to have on the blog! If you've been reading my blog, you would know that I end every post with a "song of the day." I kept throwing around the idea of doing music inspired nails and because I'm *super* original, I came up with the idea of Music Mondays! Mondays will have nail art inspired by anything music related, album covers, song lyrics, band members, anything!
So let's start with my first Music Monday manicure!
You know I had to start with Paramore nails! They're my favorite band and I've been meaning to do these nails for a super long time!
The 33 Day Challenge is over! Gah! I'm super happy with how I finished out the challenge and I'm super proud of the tribal nails that I painted for the last day. I'm sad to see the challenge over but I'm a little relieved haha. I already joined in on another challenge though and my first post for that was the Christmas lights. This challenge only posts twice a week so that's nice.
Here are the prompts for that:
Now that the 33 Day Challenge is over, I've decided to start some new features for the blog just to keep myself on top of keeping with interesting nail art. I'll share what these are over this upcoming week but I hope everyone enjoys them because I'm pretty excited for them!
Also, I'm done with classes and only have finals week to survive through! I should be able to dedicate more of my time to the blog now so that'll be great for everyone! Unless of course, I get caught up with watching Doctor Who again haha. I ended up watching like 8 episodes yesterday and finishing the season I was watching! I was so sad to see the 9th Doctor go but David Tennant is really nice to look at sooooooo, yeah, uhhh, I'm excited to keep watching haha (:
Today's song:
The Starting Line - Island
I hope you enjoyed reading and I'll be back later with my next Christmas Winter Challenge post!
Today is my last day of classes!!! WOOO!! And it's the last day of the 33 Day Challenge!! BOOO! I'm super sad to see this challenge be over. I feel like it's helped me push my nail art and blogging abilities in such a short amount of time. I feel like I owe a lot to this challenge and all I can do is hope to keep getting better!
Anyways, here are my nails for the last 33 Day Challenge prompt!
Today's prompt was to re-create someone else's manicure!
I'm back today with a post that's on time! Yee! Only one more day of classes, a "week" of finals and some final projects (I only have 1 test!) and then I'm free!! I'm so excited :D But anyways, I've decided to join in on another nail art challenge! I feel like they really help push me into doing better nail art, so I'd like to keep it up. This one is even Christmas themed!
Here are my first post for the challenge!
The first prompt of the challenge is White Christmas, so obviously I painted my nails blue and made my Christmas lights neon haha
I'm so sorry that this post is so late! I went to write this post the other day to find that all the pictures of the nails I did for this prompt were gone D: I meant to repaint them yesterday haha, but after being awake for 50+ hours straight, I uhhh kinda passed out after class and never got around to it. Whoops, so I just painted these! Woo!
Here are my nails!
You guys get to see my new nail shape too! I was tired of them breaking on the corners so I rounded them off a bit! They're growing on me, still not 100% though.
I found time to write another post! Woo! I think once I survive my classes today the rest of the week should be relatively easier (KNOCK ON WOOD). I have to do my 10 minute presentation today which seems to be the thing that is taking up so much time. Ahh, enough school talk!
I have a super quick post you all today as it's 8:30am and I haven't finished any of my homework that's due today....I really need to stop procrastinating....but anyways today is the last Monday of the 33 Day Challenge! Gah!
Here are my nails!
I think we all could have guessed that these were going to end up being blue haha! (:
I'm back today with another post! WHAT?! Wasn't I just complaining about having too much homework to do about 2 hours ago? Yeah, well, I work better when under pressure (hence why I always wait till the last minute to do my work). OR I'm just really good at procrastinating and starting this blog has given me a justifiable reason to procrastinate. You're pick (;
Rant aside! I was nominated for another award! This time it was the Blogger Friendship Award and I was nominated by Lucy from The Nail Snail! Make sure to check her out!
I guess the rules of this is to just 7 little known facts and then nominate 7 bloggers at the end? If not, sorry, but uhm yeah! Let's go!
If you haven't guessed by now, I'm currently writing this post rather then writing my 10 page paper that I need to finish so I can write my 10 minute presentation due Monday! WOO!
I drink a ton of coffee and am always looking for new, little coffee shops.
I don't really like watching movies, I'd much rather marathon a season of a tv show. The last movie that I really liked was Now You See Me.
I have an online shopping problem (:
I love old, tacky floral prints/patterns.
I hate wearing sneakers. There's snow on the ground right now and I'm still wearing ballet flats.
I listen to a lot of different music, anything from hardcore to pop punk to alternative indie rock.
And now for my nominations! This part is still hard haha.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This week was another full week of challenge nails and I managed to use blue polish in every single one of them haha whoops. I'm really happy with all the nails I posted for the 33 Day Challenge this week. I'm undecided whether my nails for the lines prompt or the same pattern, different colors prompt are my favorite. Probably the same pattern, different color nails only because I was able to use indie polishes muhahaha. My indie obsession (and collection) has been growing non-stop lately.....Sorry wallet.
Did anyone do any Black Friday or Small Business Saturday indie shopping? I was trying so hard not to but I ended up buying 8 Lucky 13 Lacquer polishes. Oops. But I finally own all of her Harry Potter collection and some of her Doctor Who collection! I just recently started watching Doctor Who, I'm only on episode 6, but SWOON. I'm in love with a tv show, not sure why it took me so long to start watching it. I picked a bad time to start watching it though considering I have a ton of final projects due....
Here are the upcoming 33 Day Challenge prompts:
THIS WEEK IS THE FINAL WEEK OF 33DC! I don't know if I'm sad or relieved. I came up with some "features" for the blog to keep myself motivated to do creative nail art, so make sure to check back for those. I *might* also be taking part in a winter challenge but I'll keep that a secret (; I wouldn't want to actually get festive for once, now would I haha.
Also, this is my final week of this semester and I have a ton of work to do. So please bear with me if I get a little behind commenting back. Thanks for understanding!
It's Friday! I was supposed to head back to school today but I decided to stay home till tomorrow just so I can have a little more time with my puppy hehe. I seriously need to do my homework though....D: I have so many projects to finish up and I hardly ever get work done when I'm home. UGH! One more week and then I'll have tons of time for the blog and friends! (:
Anywho, today is day 30 of the 33 Day Challenge! WHAT?!
I made stripes out of little brushstrokes! For some reason I thought this prompt said only 3 colors, so thats why my pinky finger isn't the pattern haha.
Today is Thanksgiving! I hope everyone who celebrates has a wonderful day and gets to spend time with their loved ones. My job actually asked me to work today but I turned it down, I always get stuck working every holiday so it's nice to get a choice this year. My nails for today aren't very "festive" but I think if you've been reading my blog you've probably already realized that I'm not very good at sticking with themes or seasons. Whoops!
Anyhow, today is the last Tri-Polish Challenge manicure for this month!
I've never posted a half moon manicure on the blog before, but this was the first nail art design that I attempted back when I started getting into nail art.
Today is my first day of Thanksgiving break! I was supposed to head home today but a snow storm hit Albany last night and my hometown has had a snow storm warning since Monday /: So, I'm going to try and wait the storm out and head home tomorrow morning, hopefully. My goal is to finish as many projects as I can so I can take some time off to hang out with my family (mostly my dog (; ) when I get back home.
Anywho, 33 Day Challenge is back today!
Now, I had a super hard time picking one favorite pattern! So, I went with dots because I like having dots on my nails and in my design work.
Today is my last day of class before break and my only lecture is cancelled! 3:30 can not come soon enough! I need a night to dedicate to doing some nail art, because clearly I have my priorities straight haha!
Anyways, the Tri-Polish Challenge is back today!
Sparkly splotches! I'd love to hear some guesses as to what you think I used for these nails!
Today is Monday! But I don't even care because I only have 2 days of classes this week and 1 of my classes was already cancelled! SCORE! I'm so excited to get a break from classes, unfortunately, my whole break will be spent working on projects but it's nice that I can just wear sweats all week (;
Anyways, this is the 2nd to last week of the 33 Day Challenge, GAH!
I warned you that there would be more striping tape nails! "Lines" was basically for a striping tape manicure, come on haha!
Another full week of challenge nails! Whew haha. I feel like I say the same thing in every single of these recaps but I really enjoyed what I posted this week! I just realized that I used purple in every single manicure, that might be why I liked them all so much haha. I tried out the nimbus nail art technique and absolutely loved it and I had 2 skittle manicures this week, which I am becoming obsessed with doing.
I love the colors for the Tri-Polish Challenge this month. Remember that they are purple, blue, and grey. I attempted to make rain clouds but they looked more like mutated strawberries haha. But I think I made up for it with my striping tape manicure! I told you I'm starting to like it! I'm like 99.9% positive that it shows up again this week hehe!
Here are the upcoming prompts for the 33 Day Challenge:
Today's song:
Plug In Stereo feat. Mother Fox - I Would Do Anything For You (Foster The People Cover)
Next week will be another full week of challenge nails so be sure to check back! (:
