Super late post tonight and technically I'm late with this for the challenge but stuff happens.
Onto the nails!
This is my first attempt at a blobbicure!.....can't say I'm impressed with the outcome....
Here's what I used:
Ohh, new background for my bottle shots too! Do we like? It's really just my desk but I was getting sick of the seam that was in my past product shots and decided to just do away with the paper. Okay, back to the nail art!
I followed ohmygoshpolish's video tutorial for a blobbicure but I'll try and run through the steps quickly. These started with one coat of Chantal. Then working one nail at a time, I put a thicker coat of Chantal and dripped the other polishes into the wet base. When the other colors hit the base, they're supposed to spread out and create little blobs. Everything was sealed in with another layer of HK Girl.
I'm not a fan of how these turned out. I don't think my thick layer of base was thick enough so the blobs didn't spread very much. Also, my top coat caused this to bubble because I was totally impatient and didn't let the art sit long enough before applying. I'm glad that I tried this technique but it's not really something I'm drawn too, so I don't think I'll be trying it in the future. But you never know so we'll see!
