The Nail Art Guild: Retro

Hello lovelies!

I have a second post for you guys! The Nail Art Guild is posting their retro nail art on Instagram today and I was hoping to join in but I still don't have a phone....which means no Instagram. So sad face. I'm supposed to be getting it back today but who knows. I honestly never realized how often I completely stop what I'm doing to check my phone....it's almost kind of sad....but I just want it back D:

Anyways, I'll still show you guys what I did for today!

Turtles! Totally not what I was going for...

Here's what I used:

Today's inspiration for these nails was actually this pattern by Rachel Cave. If you ever need and/or want some retro inspiration go to her site! Her patterns are amazing!

I started these nails with two (or three) coats of Le Printemps and a layer of HK Girl. When that had dried, I used the white acrylic paint and detail brush to add on the hexagons. After, I took some of Le Printemps and my striping brush to add a stripe down the middles of each hexagon. I went back in and *attempted* to add in some diamond shapes. Everything was sealed in with another layer of HK Girl.

These did not turn out at all like I had hoped, but that's alright! Le Printemps is a gorgeous polish and I'm glad that I got to use it in some nail art. Hopefully I'll be able to posts these on Instagram at some point....

Thanks for reading guys!

-Marisa! (:
