Blue Constellations

Hello lovelies!

Blah, it's another Monday. I just realized that I only have three more weeks left of this semester....haha ha ha....uhh...where did that time go? There's still so much that needs to do!

Anyways, onto today's nails!

Zoya Dream is seriously one of my favorite polishes. Look at how pretty it is!

Here's what I used:

These were actually the nails that I was going to post on Thursday for this month's The Nail Challenge Collaborative theme of books but turns out that my inspiration is actually a poster. Blah, this is why research is important, I get it now (see, look, I learned something in class). This poster was created by Mike Lemanski for the Constellations Festival in November 2011.

I started these nails with two coats of Zoya's Dream. When that had dried, I used a makeup sponge to sponge on a light layer of Zuza and followed that with a layer of HK Girl. Then I used the acrylic paint and my detail brush to paint on the lines. I found it easiest to start in the center to create the initial circle and then move out from there. I added some dots of Dream over that for the planets and outlined them with the paint. Everything was sealed in with a layer of HK Girl.

Initially I was annoyed with these nails because I didn't get to post them for the NCC, but I love the poster and I like how my nails turned out! I'm a little upset that you can't really see the planets but I think Dream's sparkles make up for them. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading guys!

  2. This reminds me of looking up into the sky when it's snowing. Which it's been doing a lot here lately. I do see the constellation part in it also, but my first thought was snow.
