31 Day Challenge: Half Moons

Hello lovelies!

Guess who finally got around to replying to all of the comments that you guys left over the past week. This girl! Woo! And my one year giveaway ended last night at midnight, I'm going to email the winner today and announce it either tomorrow or Saturday! Woo, exciting stuff!

Onto the nails!

I think this is the simplest design that I've posted for the 31 Day Challenge so far. But I loved these so much that I don't even care!

Here's what I used:

The weather has been a bit chilly here lately and I've been loving every minute of it, so these are the nails I did to match the cold. I'm normally not a fan of wearing red polish but I got that Pacifica polish in my Ipsy bag (review coming soon) and I'm in love with it. It does stain the cuticles but the formula was great and it hardly smells! I don't normally pay attention to what brands are 3-free, 5-free, etc only because I trust that most brands are at least 3-free (except for my HK Girl.....) but I might have to look into more 7-free polishes because I loved that I could hardly smell polish! The packaging is really super cute too so that gives this brand a little nudge forward (;

These nails started with two coats of Pahlish's Bad Wolf (which thank you to Shelby Lou, from Shelby Lou Nails, for reminding that I own this polish!). I then used the hole reinforcements to block off the half moon and painted on one coat of Red Red Wine, followed by a layer of Steampunked, which was then followed by a layer of HK Girl.

Originally, I had planed on doing some nail art over the red polish but I was tired and wanted glitter instead. I think this is the one time where being tired worked to my advantage because I was so happy wearing these yesterday during class!

Thanks for reading guys!

  2. Absolutely digging this color scheme. Love Bad Wolf's subtle shimmers in the halfmoons, and then the big and brassy shine in Steampunked. And of course, yes, I adore Red Red Wine, EVEN THO.... and now it's stuck again.
